Caravan is pleased to be one of dozens of leading health care organizations sponsoring the first Health Care Value Week, a series of free virtual events celebrating the achievements of value-based payment models. In recent years, value-based payment has led the way in establishing more equitable, accessible, and affordable health care. Register here to participate.
Participants will be welcomed by longtime friend of Caravan Health Mara McDermott, who will introduce this impressive event features dozens of speakers from health care industry, government, and academia. Topics across the four-day event include the strategies for addressing health equity, new CMMI initiatives such as Direct Contracting, and the future of primary care.
Accountable care organizations and other value-based payment models are entering a new chapter with a strategy refresh from the CMS Innovation Center and nearly 10 years after the launch of the first accountable care organizations. Caravan’s Founder and Executive Chair, Lynn Barr, will participate in a roundtable discussion about the future of value-based care on Wednesday, January 26, with other health care leaders including former CMS Administrator Mark McClellan.
Attendees will also hear from Administration officials at the CMS Innovation Center and Congressional leaders. Speakers include Elizabeth Fowler, CMMI Director, and Meena Seshamani, Director of the Center for Medicare, who will provide updates about Medicare and Medicaid reform and other administration priorities.
This is a very timely event for health care leaders navigating the COVID-19 public health emergency. Providers have made considerable progress using population health tools and model flexibilities to continue value-based payment success in challenging conditions. Join us for Value Week as we celebrate their success.
